Hebrews 12:1-2

‘And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.’

And what of the shame that entered the world at the very beginning? The shame that has woven its way into this story as we have travelled through this journey.

Jesus took it upon Himself, but in doing so, He disregarded it. He put it in its rightful place. So now we can run with endurance the race that God has set before us. Free, and alive in Jesus’ resurrection.

This verse talks about how we can now be free to live our lives knowing that God has given us everything we need. It also tells us that the shame that came into the world was defeated by Jesus, and He put it in its rightful place, never to hurt us again.
