Luke 24:1-3
‘On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.’
In the cool and the quiet of the early morning, the women who had seen their Lord beaten, broken and buried were on their way to attend to His body. But where the entrance should have been sealed shut, it had been inexplicably opened.
Sometimes, we can feel powerless as our world seems to fall apart, but we can know our God is a God of transformation, victory, and power over death and grave.
The women who were Jesus’ friends, had watched Him die only days before, and were now going to make sure that His body was well looked after. But when they arrived at the tomb where He had been laid, the stone had been rolled away! And Jesus was nowhere to be seen. They must have felt afraid, and confused, but we know what happens next…
